The Malaga City Council, through the municipal company Promálaga, opens today, Tuesday, April 7, the period to participate in a new edition of the program, 'Promálaga Base', which is aimed at 30 business projects or companies established with a maximum age of 5 years.
As stated in the regulatory guidelines, this is a completely free program whose essence is to promote business projects built on an innovative basis, with or without supporting technology.
Promálaga Base offers specialized advice for the creation of stronger and more consolidated companies, in order to obtain certification from ENISA as an emerging company, innovative SME and/or any other qualification that improves the viability and competitiveness of business projects and the entrepreneurial ecosystem based in Malaga.
The content of this program includes advice on consolidating the structure of a business project or startup, organizing personnel and material resources, protecting intellectual and industrial property, maintaining trade secrets, establishing a shareholders' agreement, and entering into investment.
During the development of the program, the selected participants will be guided in the execution of their own Business Plan with the legal requirements necessary to be able to opt, those who wish, for obtaining the EMERGING COMPANY Certificate, issued by ENISA.
Beneficiaries of the Promálaga Base program
To be eligible for the Promálaga Base program, applicants must meet the following requirements. First, they must have an entrepreneurial project or an active company less than five years old. Second, the business project must include, among its defining characteristics, support for innovation, technology, and sustainability, with particular emphasis on projects that use AI-based technology or require ensuring the transparency of their algorithmic processes. The third and final requirement is to have the company's registered office and tax domicile in the city of Málaga or commit to establishing them before the program's end.
Promálaga Base consists of two three-month application periods: the first runs from April to June, and the second from September to November. Applications will be accepted continuously from April 7th to September, but companies participating in the first application period will be selected before the start date, which is scheduled for mid-April.
It includes a maximum of 30 beneficiaries and the application period is open until September 2026. Applications will be evaluated, once compliance with the minimum access requirements has been verified, according to their degree of innovation, sustainability, scalability, growth potential, promoting team, value proposition and technology.
The program lasts three months, divided into 3 modules that include group and individual sessions: Module 1, 'Create your startup' is dedicated to the business structure (composition, corporate purpose, social capital…); Module 2, 'Activate your talent', to the degree of innovation of the company; and Module 3, 'Create and grow', to the scalability of the project.
The application to participate in the program is available on the Promálaga website in the grants and subsidies section, “Promálaga Base, Promotion of Emerging Companies”: https://www.promalaga.es/ayudas-y-subvencione/programade-fomento-de-empresas-emergentes/
