Its main group, made up of the City Council, Provincial Council, Impact Hub and companies and entities related to the sector, promotes this collaborative space for the development of sustainable actions and projects in the city
22/03/2023.- This morning the first Malaga Sustainability Hub driven by the Town Hallthrough Promálaga, belonging to the Area of Promotion of the City and Attraction of Investments, and through the Area of Environmental Sustainability, together with the Provincial Council of Malaga e Impact Hub Malaga.
These entities have worked together with companies and groups in the sector to launch this collaborative space, forming a driving group that brings together representatives from different fields with the aim of collaborating in the promotion and development of sustainable actions and projects in the city.
La Councilor for City Promotion and Investment Capture, Rosa Sánchez; the head of the Social Innovation and Depopulation unit of the Malaga Provincial Council, Resurrección Hernández, and the president of Impact Hub Málaga, Rafael Senén, participated today in the event, held at the Carmen Thyssen Museum.
During the launch event, the co-creation process carried out so far by this core of collaborating organizations and entities has been shown. The motor group is composed of representatives of the public, academic, business, third sector and investment sectors. Likewise, a round table has been held with representatives of said entities to address aspects related to sustainability.
This initiative is aligned with the objectives of the Málaga's candidacy to host the 2027 International Exposition with the proposal “The urban age: towards the sustainable city”, a subject that affects all countries, regardless of their level of development. The candidature proposes a reflection on one of the main challenges facing contemporary society in the medium and long term: making population growth and urban development compatible with environmental protection and the adoption of innovative solutions that guarantee a improvement of the quality of life of residents in cities.
Malaga's proposal for the 2027 International Exposition places countries before the challenge of use innovation as a tool for model change; a change that should be guided by the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN for 2030. Together with the theme, the chosen sub-themes are developed: citizenship, innovation and environment.
