Málaga, September 21, 2020. The municipal company Promálaga, belonging to the Delegation of Tourism, City Promotion and Investment Attraction of the Malaga City Council, has presented the ELVITEN award this afternoon to Antonia Cuevas, winner for taking the best photograph on sustainable mobility.
Rosa Sánchez, Councilor for Tourism and Promotion of the City, has been in charge of delivering this recognition to the winner. The prize, which consists of a weekly Málaga Pass card with which to visit the main monuments and museums of the city, recognizes the involvement of the winner in promoting and promoting sustainable mobility in Málaga.
During the three years that the project has lasted, 170 users have been part of ELVITEN. This programme, which promotes sustainable mobility, has led to savings of 4.500 kg of CO2 emissions in the more than 6.040 trips made by users in this period and a distance traveled of 26.000 km.
The main objective of the ELVITEN project, co-financed by the European Union within the Horizon2020 program, is to test a more innovative, sustainable and connected urban mobility system. To achieve this, technological tools were implemented that have allowed the exchange, reservation of charging points and monitoring of the fleet of 383 light electric vehicles (bicycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles), in addition to a smart card for management of incentives.
During the period that the project has lasted, it has also been possible to collect information on the frequency of use of the bicycles, the opinions, evaluations and most common problems that users have encountered, as well as other data of interest that help to improve it and implement it in another 50 European cities.
