Around twenty activities will take place during the month of June at Promálaga La Brecha, in the Plaza Pintor Eugenio Chicano
The municipal company Promálaga is going to launch a new cultural space, in the center of the city, where artistic and cultural activities will be carried out within the framework of the Promálaga La Brecha incubator, a space for entrepreneurship dedicated to crafts.
Throughout the month of June, the Plaza de Eugenio Chicano will host about twenty activities related to music, crafts, workshops and fashion.
In order to revitalize and energize the environment of said space commercially and touristically, Promálaga intends to organize a series of activities and events that favor the growth of SMEs and self-employed businesses within the crafts sector. For this, it has planned more of twenty activities that will take place during the month of June in that space
The Councilor for Innovation and New Technologies, Mario Cortés, accompanied by the managing director of Promálaga, Francisco Salas, presented this morning at a press conference the entire schedule of activities planned for the month of June, which will begin on the 8th.
The program of activities will revolve around music, fashion, art and crafts, with a clear objective: to energize the artisan entrepreneurship space that Promálaga has in the center of Malaga.
These activities will serve as a cultural shuttle to connect artists and artisans with citizens. In addition, they will value and publicize this space that has been recovered for citizen and commercial use.
The first actions are set for June 8 and 9 within the framework of the fourth edition of the International Emerging Art Fair of Málaga Art & Breakfast. The Fair will have performers in Promálaga La Brecha by Álvaro Caboalles; a children's storytelling workshop and a masterclass on personal branding that will be given by the illustrator Pedrita Parker from Málaga.
Nature and the environment will be the protagonists of another block of activities on Saturday, June 16, which will dress the square in green with aromatic plants. A workshop has also been scheduled to learn how to create a small garden at home that will be given by the company Huertum and by D. Darko from Malaga, whose art currently decorates the interior stairs of the Russian Museum Collection. The artist will project a collaborative work in which all creators who want to join him can participate.
On June 20, the day on which the Happiest Day is celebrated, Promálaga La Brecha joins the anniversary with a day of salsa and dance exhibition in the same square. Later, on June 21, on the occasion of the European Day of Music and the International Day of Yoga, there will be a concert by the Martín Tenllado Flute Orchestra (OFMT) in which they will perform classical works, film soundtracks and root music. popular. In addition, La Brecha joins the commemoration of International Yoga Day with an open class by Yume Yoga.
On the night of San Juan, June 23, there will be an artisan exhibition that will value craft work with unique pieces, as well as a science workshop in which the Principia Center will offer a workshop on scientific experiments for the whole family and will transfer to La Brecha its traveling museum with experiments and interactive games. Also, that same day, the Cía Be Punto dance company will offer a contemporary dance show and, to end the day, there will be a DJ set.
This month of activities will end on June 28 and 29 with the celebration of the International LGBT Pride Day, for which a balcony decoration contest will be launched under the slogan Love is in the air, there will be musical performances and a parade of young designers.
Promalaga The Gap. The Promálaga La Brecha incubator is located around Calle Carretería, Calle Nosquera and Calle Andrés Pérez, in the center of Malaga.
Currently, the space, located in Plaza Eugenio Chicano, has eight commercial premises dedicated to crafts. They are the companies Scrappiel, dedicated to Scrapbooking and paper and leather crafts; the Matraca art gallery, where he exhibits artisanal design works such as signature jewelry, ceramic works (hand-painted crockery) or woodwork.
Also in Promálaga is La Brecha, Alfonso Rot's pottery workshop where he sells archaeological reproductions, unique pieces made with the latest ceramic techniques and training courses.
Another of the Isiwax craft companies, a store specializing in the manufacture and design of candles through 3D printing and scanning. It also carries out workshops for adults and children to publicize the process of making candles. In addition to Matraca, there is another art gallery, that of Daniel Parra, an artistic-cultural space with exhibitions and talks about the exhibited works.
Music is also present in Promálaga La Brecha. On the one hand, Paolo Pamiro is in charge of the manufacture and restoration of musical instruments of the violin family; and Candilejas that sells music in various formats, merchandising, event ticket sales, etc.
Fashion is another of the sectors that have a presence in the incubator. The entrepreneur Elena Acha is in charge of the design and online sale of women's clothing with exclusive designs. She also applies R&D technology to develop a textile thread obtained with 3D printing.
