Municipal Network of Incubators (RMI):
14 spaces to accommodate more than 260 companies

Malaga City Council, and Promálaga In particular, in 2003 they promoted the creation of a network of municipal incubators with the aim of helping entrepreneurs and businessmen to carry out their projects and business ideas and contribute to job creation.

There are 14 incubators that make up the Municipal Network of Incubators (RMI), which offers a constructed area of ​​about 21.600 square meters with capacity for house a total of 260 companies and 650 jobs.

Structured according to the activity and services that each one offers, there are technological and innovative incubators (Promálaga I+D, Coworking y Excelencia), neighborhood incubators (Teatinos, Saint Exupery, Soliva and Cruz de Humilladero), creative and cultural incubators (Virreina, La Píndola and Casa de Socorro) and center incubators (Alamos, La Brecha, Citylab y Economistas). This RMI design allows entrepreneurs to group around the same sector of activity, which generates synergies between the incubated companies. 

The Municipal Network of Incubators also offers 16 meeting rooms, 3 function rooms, 4 training rooms, 180 parking spaces, and photovoltaic panel installations with an annual production of 256 megawatts per hour.

The incubators with the largest number of incubation spaces are Promálaga I+D, who is 76, and Promalaga Coworking, with 26 (in addition to 40 coworking spaces) and Casa de Socorro, with 20 incubation spaces. Next in line are Soliva, with 16, and Excelencia, Saint Exupery, Teatinos and Economistas, all with 15. The list is closed by Virreina (11), Cruz de Humilladero and Citylab (both with 9), La Brecha (8) and, finally, La Píndola and Álamos with 6 spaces each.

Projects Europeans

PROMÁLAGA has an experience of more than 15 years participating in projects of different European programs, such as Interreg-MED, Interreg-Europe, Erasmus+, Fp7, H2020 and Horizon Europe. We are also eligible for the Interreg-SUDOE, Interreg-Atlantic and Urbact IV programs.

Our work focuses on the revitalization of business ecosystems and entrepreneurship, but we also have experience in tourism projects, urban mobility, creative-cultural entrepreneurship projects, sustainable urban development and adaptation to climate change.

Since 1997, Málaga Emprende, the Business Creation Unit of the Malaga City Council, offers support tools for the creation and consolidation of companies.

In this way, it contributes to strengthening the business fabric of Malaga through the Promotion of already established companies or support for the creation of new ones, with special attention to small and medium-sized companies.
