On March 5, Malaga will host the largest national entrepreneurship contest in social innovation for FP

This is the megahackathon of the '#GenerationFP' program, in which 300 vocational training students from Andalusia will compete in La Noria to launch the best business project

12/02/2024.- Málaga will host next Tuesday March 5 '#GenerationFP, the megahackathon', largest in-person contest in Spain on entrepreneurship in social innovation for Vocational Training. The '#GenerationFP' megahackathon, which will be held at the La Noria Málaga facilities (50 Arroyo de los Ángeles Avenue), will bring together a total of 300 students and more than 100 teachers belonging to Vocational Training centers public, concerted and private throughout Andalusia, including the province of Málaga. For more than 10 hours, students from each center will compete to present the best business project.

This was explained today at a press conference by the Councilor for Innovation, Digitalization and Investment Capture of the Malaga City Council, Alicia Izquierdo, together with the territorial delegates of Educational Development and Vocational Training and Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality of the Junta de Andalucía, Miguel Briones and Ruth Sarabia, respectively, and the deputy for Education and Youth of the Provincial Council of Málaga, José Santaolalla, and the partners of Diverxia Consulting, Daniel Salobreña and Jesús Pedrero.

Participation in the event is free and will have prizes valued at a total of 3.000 euros. The best business project will have a first prize of 1.000 euros. There will also be a prize of 400 euros for the four finalists and another of 400 euros for the team that works best throughout the event. Centers, with a maximum of two teams and through their teachers, can register for the 'megahackathon' through the website https://www.diverxiaconsulting.com/generationfp/.

The event is organized by Diverxia Consulting, and is sponsored by through Promálaga, a municipal company belonging to the Area of ​​Innovation, Digitalization, and Investment Capture; together with Provincial Council of Malagathrough La Noria and the delegation of Education and Youth; From CaixaBank Dualizes, Y de Freepik. And with the collaboration of Education Area of ​​the Malaga City Council; the provincial delegation of Educational Development and Vocational Training and University, Research and Innovation of the Junta de Andalucía; Aqualy; Digitech; WindUp; EVAD Higher School of Video Games and Digital Art; OXO Video Game Museum; FP Innovation, TDconsulting and McDonald's.

'#GenerationFP' is an entrepreneurship and employability program whose objective is provide Vocational Training students with the necessary skills to start up a business idea through workshops, group work sessions and individual mentoring with the mentors.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND RURAL ENVIRONMENTS

The 'megahackathon' will have a challenge focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and in the rural settings that will not be revealed until the beginning of the event so that all teams participate on an equal footing.

Based on active methodologies such as ABRetos (Challenge Based Learning), simulation or gamification, it will initially be divided into 5 simultaneous hackathons of 10 teams made up of 6 people. They will work in phases on the idea, planning, product, marketing and branding, and prototyping to finish with a pitch before a professional jury. The winning teams of each of these 5 hackathons will participate in the 'Final Round', where in a new pitch before another jury they will fight for the first prize.

The teams will receive training pills in each phase and will be accompanied by mentors who will answer questions throughout the event. Participants will also work on transversal skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, resilience, creativity, adaptation or empathy.

In parallel, teachers from the centers will be able to participate in a practical workshop given by Freepik and on a table entrepreneurial experiences coordinated by Diverxia, which will be attended by Juan Antonio Aguilar, from FP Innovación, and Noemí Zambrana, a leading teacher in the world of entrepreneurship.

The opening event of the 'megahackathon' will feature the presentation by Javier Rodríguez Zapatero, former president of Google Spain, Portugal and the Middle East and current president of Grupo Digitalent.
