The municipal educational program 'Teenbizz' brings entrepreneurship to more than 760 Malaga schoolchildren

From April 16 to May 3, the online voting process remains open to choose the best student projects in the 'The Happiness Machine' and 'Smart City' initiatives.

This initiative of the Department of Education and Promálaga aims to awaken interest in entrepreneurship in students between the ages of 9 and 14

16/04/2024.- The 2023/2024 edition of the educational program 'Teenbizz', joint initiative of Education Area and the municipal company Promálaga, belonging to the Innovation, Digitalization and Investment Capture Area of ​​the Malaga City Council, enters its final stretch. The Workshops given to Primary and Secondary schoolchildren ended last March 6 with a participation of 26 Malaga centers and 764 students.

During this 2023/2024 edition, the Primary students (501 schoolchildren) have created 'The Happiness Machine' with the aim of knowing the cbasic concepts of entrepreneurship.

Those in 1st and 2nd year of Secondary School (263 students) have worked in pprojects related to 'Smart City' and the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, established by the UN for the 2030 horizon. They have addressed topics such as reducing poverty, environmental management and protection, energy savings, social inclusion, equality and citizen participation, among others. In this way, they have been able to learn about and participate firsthand in an entrepreneurial experience and improvement of the city's services.

In the workshops, not only the final result of the activity has counted but also the motivation, participation, the interest placed in the development of the workshop, the effort of each one and the collaboration in the work in a group; all through games to emphasize the concepts.

Finally, the projects have materialized in videos and the students themselves have selected the best of both initiatives. From April 16 to May 3 you can vote on the videos through the 'Contest' section of the website www.teenbizz.es.

On May 10, the winning teams in each category, 'The Happiness Machine' and 'Smart City', will receive diplomas and educational games to promote their creativity and personal development in a gala to be held at the Albéniz Cinema.

PROMOTION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN SCHOOLCHILDREN AGED 9-14

'Teenbizz' has as its main objective arouse interest in entrepreneurship in schoolchildren between the ages of 9 and 14. In the workshops organized by Promálaga, values ​​such as creativity, teamwork and the capacity for initiative are promoted through the creation of prototypes of innovative projects that improve society.

The Early Childhood and Primary Education centers have participated with 'The Machine of Happiness': CEIP Miguel Hernández, CEIP Pintor Félix Revello de Toro, CEIP Miguel de Cervantes, CDP El Limonar, CEIP Ramón Simonet, CEIP Benito Pérez Galdós, CEIP Rafael Alberti , CEIP Practices Nº1, CEIP Fuente Alegre, CEIP Neill, CEIP Hogarsol, CEIP Intelhorce, CEIP José Moreno Villa and CEIP Guadaljaire.

The institutes IES Juan Ramón Jiménez, CDP Santa Luisa de Marillac, IES Nuestra Señora de la Victoria, IES Torre del Prado, CDP Santísima Trinidad, IES Jardín de Málaga, IES Ben Gabirol, CEIP El Tarajal, IES have participated with 'Smart City' Huelin, IES Emilio Prados, IES Litoral and IES Torre Atalaya.
